Hello all, today’s post is going to be all about my travel bag essentials. I’ve been on-the-go a lot over the last few months so I wanted to share what I typically bring in my carry-on bag. Here are a few tried and true items that I find essential for any flight. If any of you are traveling soon, I hope you find this helpful!
I am all about having chic travel style so starting off with the bag I use, it varies depending on the trip I’m taking but I love using this backpack from Timbuk2 accompanied by the Catherine Malandrino handbag featured above. I found a few years ago. I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect shape, size and fits everything I need for a day of travel.
1. Personal Care Items
Traveling can be unpredictable which is why I always have a few personal care items close by. This includes an array of travel sized products such as deodorant, hand sanitizer, mints/gum, toothpaste, a toothbrush, tissues, make-up remover/cleansing wipes (I swear by these wipes from Aveeno) and of course extra hair ties and bobby pins just in case.
2. An Empty Water Bottle
Dehydration can often lead to exhaustion which is why it’s important to drink a lot of water. Since you are only able to bring a small amount of liquids through security, I usually bring my own water bottle to refill once I get to my gate. This will also allow you avoid high airport costs.
Flying is a great way to disconnect. I love getting lost in a good book or magazine and I always have a killer playlist ready to go on my iPod. If you’re not keen on flying in general, try viewing it as a time to mentally re-charge.

4. Healthy Snacks
I can’t go a plane ride without something to snack on. It’s so easy to ignore eating healthy when you’re traveling too so I always bring my own snacks for the flight. Bringing your own is another way you can save a bit of money. Some of my favorites include:
- LARABAR – A gluten-free energy bar made from pure ingredients
- Trail Mix that doesn’t contain chocolate or any additive sugars
- A banana or apple, basically any type of organic fruit
5. Scarf + Sweatshirt
I hate being cold and the temperature on an airplane is never predictable so whenever I take a flight I always make a point to pack a scarf or an extra sweatshirt.
